Inauguration of the New Istanbul Wrestling Club Sports Complex

The new building of the Istanbul Wrestling Club, a century-old pillar of Turkish wrestling history dating back to 1919, officially opened on 27 March 2026 with an architectural design by Cafer Bozkurt Architecture. Realized through the vision and contributions of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), the Sadettin Tantan Campus in Fatih, Aksaray, is designed to raise qualified athletes for Turkish wrestling, featuring hotel-standard accommodation, halls with two wrestling mats, a fitness center, a sauna, and social amenities suitable for training camps. Spanning a total construction area of 4,690 square meters, this fully equipped indoor sports facility blends the deep-rooted spirit of the past with an innovative and contemporary architectural language. The inauguration was conducted by İBB Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan, with the attendance of the project's architect Cafer Bozkurt and former Minister of Interior Affairs Sadettin Tantan, after whom the facility is named, along with Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş, Turkish Wrestling Federation President Taha Akgül, Club President Süleyman Karabel, Foundation President Fatih Tantan, as well as numerous executives, coaches, athletes, and guests.
